Ouch! How do you know you may have a hernia?

I only had my ileostomy reversed, but this surgery seems to be worse than the last. 

I am a bit paranoid because i sneezed really hard a couple of days ago and it felt like somthing 'went' in the ileo closure area and since then has felt really sore and hurts to press on on one particular area.  The only way to describe how it feels is like when you get a 'stitch' when you've been walking or running too fast.    no apparent lump is there but it now 'catches' when i move around normally from time to time.  Also when i press on the tender area i can feel my bowel  sqwelch and gurgle..

also the area around the ileo closure was numb after surgery

does anyone have any clue or am i just being a complete paranoid wuss?
