amount of supplies for cruise

we will be gone for 10 days, five is on the cruise, five are just at the port. I usually get about 6 days from a wear, so i packed 20 changes worth, just in case.
Surely that's over kill right? Or does anyone think i need to take more?

ha! I think it sounds like overkill, but rather be safe than sorry.
In case your ship got rerouted b/c of a hurricane, or swimming in the ocean water was harder on your flanges than you thought and you got shorter wear time, and you cut one way to big and got leaks, and you dropped one in the toilet, I think you'd still have enough. tongue

But I would take some with you on your carry on and some in your baggage (assuming you are flying to port).

I have no idea, but I just wanted to say have a wonderful time. Where are you going. This year will be the first year in many years we haven't cruised. We are taking the year off so I can recover, but next year we are so going!!!

Have a great time and let us know all about it when you return.

Totally overkill...but bring it all yeah

I do the same thing with way more than I need but I'd rather have that then have to find a hospital to get something I ran out of!

Have a great time. I think you are right on target. Don't forget, don't let your supply bag out of your hand AND put your stateroom number, ship name, and your name on it, just in case.

i have already cut my wafers
and have 15 changes in my carry on bag and five in another bag, i couldnt fit it all in one bag, lol.
If we were going on a trip that was just land based, i wouldnt take nearly as many, cause i could always find a hospital or a drug store that sold them. Or worse case pay overnight shipping from somewhere. We aren't flying, but they said we could have a carry on bag on the cruise.
they also said we could each bring a six pack of water which i want to do but am not sure if i am supposed to carry it on or pack it or what.
Anyway, we are going to the bahamas, leaving from charleston, i told DH only way i would go is if we left from there, so i didnt have to fly, its only about 4 hours from here. easily driveable, even though i have to drive me and kid down there myself since DH can't come until wednesday, because he has to fly in from work. He works out of state now. Anyway, i have been on a cruise one other time, but was not a fan. However, i still had UC, couldnt enjoy the food, had just left 4 days in disney, AND i had a broken pinky toe and my other foot had a fracture, thank you pred! So that was a little miserable! I plan to go and eat nothing but desserts, lol. That way i won't be able to fit into the fancy dress my husband insisted i bring. I rambled, lol.
I hope they don't take my scissors i need them for my sureseals and i packed them up in a bunch of the towel squares i use so they wouldn't cut anything. They might think i'm hiding them. i also took a bunch of ziploc bags and alochol wipes in case we break down (do not say that won't happen, cause then it will for sure) we can wash our hands, and have some place to put our poo. Yes i am a worrier, and yes im rambling, lol. Glad to know you all think it's over kill too, that makes me feel a little more confident that i have brought enough, have to make sure i get it all home, cause i took almost everything i had!

I always wondered if you could cut the wafers ahead of time. I thought it might dry out the middle.....or something. But since you did that, can you cut your sureseals too? In case they confiscate your scissors.

i always cut my wafers ahead of time when i make my supply boxes up and i do six boxes at a time, which is a little over a month worth. I don't take that white stuff off the waxy stuff though. I thought about cutting my sureseals, but i won't know what size pieces i need to fix it where i have messed up, lol.

VERY IMPORTANT>>>>>>>If you precut your wafers, but sure and tightly scotch tape them back in their envelopes because if you leave them exposed to air the wafer part will dry out as a post above mentioned. So if it has not been too long get going with that scotch tape. Rosemary

I throw theenvelopes away that's the way I have been doing it for the whole time hopefully it won't cause problems

   Summer...did you ever try the one piece Coloplast?  They are soooo easy!  No cutting.  They come in the size of your stoma.  Mine is exactly one inch.  Wish hubby's was one inch tongue ....only kiddin but u get my drift.

     Anyways...better to have too many than not enough of supplies.  Have a great time!!!  We've been on seven cruises and don't plan on any more.  How many islands can you see?  But hubby loves cruises.  I don't like the formal nights.....I just like to schlep around in my jeans and sweat shirts but he loves to dress up rolleyes .

     By the way, the trip we were planning out to San Francisco..well, found out the hotel is Comfort Inn by the Bay and I read the reviews....ugh...horrible.  Don't want to come home with bedbugs..lol.

You def don't want bedbugs! I'm not looking forward to the formal night, I don't know if anyone on here rememebers my dress debacle from a few years ago but there was much confusion and trying on to get a dress lol. Just happy I can eat all the food this time!

Since you are not going thru security for plane travel there will be no problem with scissors in your carry on boarding the ship. The cruise lines do not allow you to bring a steam iron (I know - they took mine and returned it at the end of the cruise). I saw people in the cruise terminal when they were getting their cruise sailing cards with cases of water they were bringing on board so obviously that is not a problem.There must be people very much like us who need water for their staterooms. They do have the large containers of water in your stateroom for a charge of approx $4 per bottle. Some cruise lines will allow you to bring a bottle of wine on board but no alcohol. Check out the cruise line's web site if you don't have a cruise book that has most everything noted in "the fine print". The drinking water on board is safe to drink so bring a good size water container to be able to bring with you on deck.

We are going on a cruise in Nov and I am sure I will be bringing tons of supplies like you are doing for hubby as well as he just had surgery and I wouldn't want to be caught short for any reason too.
