powder question

So how do you get your wafer and eakins to stick to powdered skin? My ostomy nurse is assuming I have a yeast infection and told me to buy some over the counter anti fungal powder. ( I bought microguard) I put it on, it got everywhere, and i'm not sure exactly how you dust off the excess without dusting all of it off. I thought I had a thin layer, but the eakin and the wafer were both very reluctant to stick. I'm just praying that it managed to stick with my pressing on the wafer for 20 minutes because I need it to last at least 2 days. Are there any tricks or tips out there to the dusting off and getting things to stick? I sure hope this stuff works fast because I'm itching like a mad woman!

I spray my powder with 3M spray that the ostomy company sent me. It makes it tacky and gives the skin a barrier.

Yes, like others said, you have to sprinkle the powder on and then put either a barrier wipe on or a spray that will seal it. Otherwise your wafer won't stick!

The wipe won't take away the effect if you dab it just to moisten the powder then it dries like a film. The wafer still doesn't stick perfectly though

And i'm curious about the 3M spray as well! Is it healing or just protective?
