look, i really hate to scare you or anything. but well, the pelvic floor is a very delicated area with lots of nerve ends and the most bad comlication that can happen is nerve damage that results in horrible chronic pain for life. i have 2 friends (women) who had this happened to them and they just live on narcotics. that's my biggest fear.
another thing is scare tissue developing in the pelvic and can cover the Fallopian tube and thus having problems to conceive a baby and also interrupt the bladder functioning.
but on the other hand, look at all the wonderful folks here who had their rectum removed and didn't have any of these coplications, so i don't know, maybe my fears are exaggerated..?
