They gave me those potassium pills in the hospital (here in Jersey) when I was dehydrated, about a month post op. This was NOT the hospital where I had the operation (one reason I chose Philly over Jersey hospital for my operation). They gave me two potassium pills. Later in the evening, I noticed one whole one in my bag and thought...OMG...where is the other one? Hoping it wouldn't cause a blockage. Thankfully, it did come out a few hours later. I told this to my nurse and she said she would make note of it. OK....the next day, what did they come in with...not two but FOUR huge potassium pills!!! !! I had to explain once again that I could NOT take them. They set up the IV with potassium but didn't regulate a slow drip and WOW did it ever burn. Apparently, the nurse didn't know it was to be a slow drip. OMG....hope I never have to be taken by ambulance to one of these Jersey hospitals again.
Cannot take enteric coated pills.
Tracy....are you having another operation?
