Illeostomy

Went in to have a baby in October and ended up with a cesarean and an illeostomy, after my bowel perforated.  I now have to wait for a reversal which will be at the end of April.  I do not like this bag at all, because of the leaks etc.  I have the district nurses still coming in to dress my laparotomy wound as it got infected!!!!!!!.  How do you all cope with showering and changing the bag.  I change it every other day.  It is not very easy when you have a screaming baby and trying to change the bag.  Any suggestions. I get quite miserable about all this.

Thanks M.  The leaks have settled down now, thank God.  i still do worry about it leaking, but I feel a lot better.  How are you doing.

Thanks M, It just seems like a long wait.  I went back to see the surgeon and I am yet to get a date for the reversal.  I think and hope that it will be April, he was going to get back to me.  Do you know the procedures for a reversal and how you feel or what I should be expecting.  Looking forward to it though. Can they keep me waiting longer than April.
