My name is Sharon and in Australia we shorten most names to a nickname which, for me, happens to be Shaz (or Shazza or Shazam or Shazzy) :)

When I was a kid I bought this little piece of blue glass at a street fair. It was smooth and fun to look through and I carried it in my pocket, as kind of a personal thing that I liked. Then as a teen I gave it away because I thought I was supposed to to prove my love to someone else..... when that ended, I always regretted giving it away.... then about ten years later, I saw the same kind of glass in a stained glass store (3 for a dollar), and I bought a red, green, and blue one. At different points, I gave the red and green ones away to important people in my life, but the blue one is mine.

So, for me it's this symbol of keeping part of myself for myself. That's all a bit heavy for this forum, but when I did online dating (and met my partner!) I used that name, as a reminder to hold onto myself, and since then its the first thing that comes to mind when I need an anonymous name. It's weird here because a lot of people read it as "bluegrass," and I have very little connection to that genre of music/culture.

I've been using this name online for a long time. I originally came up with it after joking with a friend that I run just so I can eat all the pancakes I want without weighing a zillion pounds. It just kind of stuck after that.

     Guess I'm not very original.  Christine is my name..lol.  My yahoo screen name used to be Polishprincess46 until some wise guy banned me until the year 2021.  I must have beaten him at pinochle or something.

Well I started off as OHIO76 which is the state and county I live in...but now I am Equestrian Mom because my daughter is a rider and it's where I spend most of my time smilewinkgrin

I have no idea honestly. I think it started about 8 years ago when I was trying to think of a screen name for Ragnarok Online. Had the name ever since.
