Wafer Suggestions, Please.

Went to the E.T. nurse yesterdayand we believe we found a solution to at least part of my leakage problem.

I'm pretty badly herniated at the stoma. It sticks out on a big round mound maybe an inch or more resembling a lady's large breast. Then the stoma itself sort of blossums out still another inch, all happening only while I'm standing. That's why I've had better success installing it while standing. So, I need something flexible with durahesive back that will sort of wrap around and sit on top. stoma opening size is 1 1/4 and a one piece would be fine or a two piece that is flexible enough to bend.

Next fall I plan to have the hernia fixed which is the real cure. I have several herna belts I wear(not at once) one has a 2 3/8 hole and one with a 3" hole.

Anybody?

Dave -- as another thought even though you have this uneven situation complicating the situation.

My husband started out with the Hollister New Image system that worked fine for 3 months. The adhesive started to bother him. We tried the all pectin wafer and he did not like it and didn't have the same success with it.

HOWEVER he uses a convex wafer which he needs but he was also using either and Eakin seal or Adapt ring under the wafer and paste at 3 oclock and 9 oclock to fill in which he did need initially.

He started having leaks........I logically reasoned out due to him gaining 8 lbs maybe he needed less convexity. We stopped the ring and paste and also switched to a different convex wafer which seems to be more skin friendly and he is getting 6-7 days wear time and the skin is a lot better.

So do you use a convex system at all? If so maybe you have too much convexity and need a flatter wafer or less underneath? Or if you use a flat wafer might you need some light convexity?

We are only 4 1/2 months into this so we are NOT experts by any stretch of the imagination...lol. Just thinking out loud if anything like this could also assist you.

Why don't you try a Cymed sample? I think they are the most flexible and don't have convexity but only come in one piece.
