If the adhesions cause a full blockage, then yes, you will have to have surgery to remove the section that is blocked. It has happened to me twice, and the second time the blockage caused my small intestine to perforate, so it's really important to go to the hospital asap if you have a full blockage with pain and vomiting.

Ever since that second surgery 2 years ago, I have not had any adhesion problems and have felt great. The surgeon put Seprafilm down before closing me up to help keep the scar tissue in its place, and so far so good.

What procedure are you having? I have had lots of issues with scar tissue, but to date, I have been very, very lucky that I have not had to have surgery to resolve it. Right now I am having lots of discomfort in the rectal cavity but will also have a procedure on Monday to resolve it, hopefully. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Best of luck to you too!
