as of today, I have officially lost 14.5 kg - approx 32 pounds smile

That's before and now pics: (October 2010) and now (July 2011) pics. Mind you I still have at least 15kgs and a bit more to go to get to my medically acceptable weight.

So for all those wondering if you can gain weight after ostomy surgery. YES, you can, so be careful!

Congrats! That's an accomplishment.

And yes, you surely can gain weight. I weigh more than I ever have, not even 5 months out of surgery. I'm OK for now, but the docs said no more, please!

Congrats Shaz!!! You look fantastic yeah ! Oh, don't I know you can gain weight after ostomy surgery rolleyes . Last year, following my surgery, my husband said my legs were so skinny I looked like a chicken. Well, now I am starting to look like a piggy. I suppose all those years of not being able to eat much of anything...loss of appetite (even while on prednisone), feeling just so sick all the time, made me appreciate the fact I was finally able to eat!!! So what did I do...PIG OUT!!! I have gained 13 lbs since surgery. My clothes still fit, last year they sort of hung on me, but if I gain anymore they sure won't! LOL! Are you following a specific diet? On the Today show this morning, Miss South Carolina (or was it North Carolina, I forgot) was on and she lost over 100 lbs!! She was very overweight as a teen but a doctor told her she should lose the weight for health benefits.

hi shaz, well done, you'll feel like a new woman when you have reached your target - i'm sure you are already feeling the benefit of your progress to date - my weight has thankfully gone the other way since my op from a skinny 8.5 stone for the past 20 years to a happy 10.5 stone over the the past 12 months - i'd like to keep it just there - one unexpected surprise is that i just dont feel cold any more & have been in short sleeves since last September - i admit i did put a jacket on when it was -16 C in january as i'm not entirely crazy

YYYYAYYYY GOOD JOB SHAZ!! yeah you can certainly gain weight after surgery.

if i don't watch it..... i'd be as big as an elephant lol... tongue
