WHOA! FOUND A "CURE" FOR PANCAKING!! ROSEMARY SPED UP TRANSIT WAY TOO MUCH

I am an ileostomate who gets pancaking around the stoma from eating bread or starchy foods. So today I thought I would make myself a treat. hahahaha!

Made a recipe for chocolate frosting: 6 tblsp butter, 2.75 cups of confectioners sugar, tsp of vanilla, 1/3 cup of milk, 1/2 cup cocoa then mix

I only had about 2 tablespoons of the stuff. Not only did it empty me of EVERYTHING I had eaten but then it reached into the future and emptied me of food I had not yet eaten.

SO THEN I had to eat baby food bananas, dry toast, and applesauce and pasta to slow the flow and it did but with pancaking.

SO then I thought, well, just a tiny bit of that frosting will loosen me just enough to get all that thickening food to move out. So I had a 1/2 tsp of the "magic frosting" Oh, lord, it must be the fat content or the intense sugar, but off I went into ileostomy diarrhea land again from so little of the stuff. My transit is not slow to begin with but certain foods still thicken and pancake.

BUT I was thinking if anyone has slow transit even if they have an ileostomy and there are a few on this board who do, then try the above recipe and let me know if it helps. I am now thinking about taking an immodium as I have to get to bed. Bad day with discovery of what for me is on a do not eat list.

It should have been obvious to me but wasn't, when I pancake, I just let some air into the pouch and it slides right down.

Hodaya - YES!!!!!!! Though not needed for myself, obviously, I have found a cure for those with slow transit such as yourself. PUT that prune juice aside, make my recipe and report back to me.

villager, Yes, I am trying out my recipe on Hodaya and if she gets results I will go for the patent

trying, I have not tried letting air into the bag, I can't wrap my head around unhitching the bag from the face plate as mine is on with a mighty tupper ware click that I may not be able to get clicked on again in time. But those who do have great success such as yourself. This is a whatever works type of thing isn't it?

I love that theory Hodaya. I just passed a tuna sandwich in one and a half hours in the company of a low calorie coke and two spoons of the chocolate "Elixer."

I have a real itch under my wafer. I sure hope I don't have a yeast issue or a burn. I really gotta cool on all this sugar. Rosemary
