Hi Montana and welcome. I haven't posted here in maybe a year but had a feeling I should visit today. So glad that I found your message.
I had a subtotal colectomy in July 2010 for colonic inertia. It was a success in that I don't have constipation any more. It seems that the surgery affects everybody differently. In my case, I have to watch what I eat or I will have cramps and/or diarrhea. Foods I shouldn't eat include nuts, whole grains, fruits and most veggies. For the past month I've been eating some of these foods in hopes that my body will get used to them.
If you have more questions or if I can help in any way, please let me know.
