There really isn't a progress yardstick to compare yourself to -- people heal at different rates, and I know it's cliche but it really is best to take it one day at a time. Just being in the hospital is exhausting, not to mention having major surgery, so if you're mostly wanting to sit on the couch, just take that as that you're tired and need rest, and don't be upset w/yourself for not doing more..... when you are ready to do more, you'll want to and it'll feel good.
It is weird to get used to a draining wound, but that is what a lot of them are supposed to do.... the fluid needs to get out.
You will get better! Hang in.
