Halp!

Hey guys. I just have a quick question for all the ileo reversals out there. I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday (it's been 8 days post op for my reversal) and I'm just wondering how anyone manages to feel comfortable with the whole going to the bathroom part of it. Sometimes I can go hours without using the bathroom others I'm running to the bathroom every few minutes. How am I supposed to be comfortable leaving my house to see my doctor when my bowel movements are so random? Any ideas?

Im not sure. ive never taken immodium. Even with my ileo. i never had so much output that i needed to slow it down. Couldnt hurt to try though i suppose. I was wondering about that but i wasnt sure if it was something good to take with crohn's and being all connected. Thank you :)

Immodium slows down peristalsis -- the pushing of stuff through the intestines. It has nothing to do with the inflammation that causes Crohn's symptoms. Sometimes gi docs don't like people to take it because it can mask a flare and prevent you from noticing that you need treatment for the underlying inflammation. But that's not going to happen if you take it for one day (and the rules on that can change after surgery).
