Burning outside stoma flange

Hi,

My mother had an ileostomy last year and has been using Hollister bags and Eakins seals. Recently, she has been experiencing an intense burning just outside the perimeter of the flange, with no external rashes / burns visible otherwise. Also, this burning intensifies only late in the evening whilst is more or less ok early in the day.

Would anyone have experienced anything similar please by any chance? My mother had recently started taking Rowasa - I read somewhere that it does cause abdomen pain, so she's now moved back to Pentasa. The pain location has changed and become less severe, but still there. Becomes better with a painkiller.

Do let me know please if anyone has faced similar symptoms!

Hi Dan - it is actually just outside the tape.. Very strange too as no external signs as well of any irritation.
