YOU STUPID BAG

so im laying on the bed talking to my friend on the phone and writing a letter when i smell something its now my instincts to look down at mr. wiggles but this time I SAW HIM not his clothes lol i was so mad and emotional at once i had to get off the phone quick!!!! and i hate when you tell some one i gotta call you back and there whyning whyyyyyyy ... obvouisly something more important has presented itself. anyway i got off the phone held my bag to my stoma had poop on my shirt and shorts who thought that i would be touching poop after my infant years lol... i wanted to cry but that wouldnt have changed anything so i put a new bag to the wafer put the poopy stuff in the washer found a diffrent set of pj's and got back oon the phone deep down i was pround of myself because as much as i really wanted to get mad at my bag for falling off for no reason i didnt i finally accepted it and moved on :)  ---->  am ready for step 3 surgery

that made me laugh :) as soon as i got the new bag on i put my belt on so it wouldnt "accidently" come off :)

Hello. I had a emergency surgery on 10/04/011. I went into hospital on 09/19/011 complaining of severe pain, not being abel to keep anything down. I had been told years ago that I have diverticulitus. I had forgotten about how painful this alement can be. Anyway, on September 19th, they did a x-ray and found that one of my diverticuli had ruptured and that I had a abcess near my bladder as well. I spent 1 week in the hospital on anti biotics. and pain killers. I went home for a week. Went back again for check up. Did another x-ray and next thing I know they are telling me that if They had a operating room open I would be next in line. Found out that my intestins had also ruptured and that I was very very ill. I went into surgery. Came out of surgery with 2 feet of my intestins taken out, I massive incision from the bottom of my sternum all the way down and a iliostomy bag as well. It took me a long time for the incision to heal. I have learned to deal with the bag. I have had a leak or two here and there but nothing to really worry about. If you are having trouble with the 2 piece then I would suggest getting a 1 piece system. They are much easier to deal with . I tired the two piece but that was not the thing for me. Do not worry about getting your clothe4s dirty. I have had leaks before and I just throw it all in the wash. When not out in public I lounge around in sweat pants and tee shirt. Wearing a belt is to much for me to deal with.

I switched to a one piece after I got tired of my bag falling off for no reason.  I have been bowling and playing golf with no problems. I would never have that confidence with a two piece, at least the one I was using.

I wear a 2 piece convatec and it is like a tupperware seal and it doesn't ever come apart. It is so hard to snap together that I have to use foaming soap to snap it together. I did have a Hollister bag pop off of the wafer 3 times, but this was over a 15 month period, so I wouldn't call that a total failure. What kind of system are you using?

Boy does this bring back memories of having an elisotomy bag. I had so many problems, I wore the two piece most of the time, it seemed to work the best for me but what finally helped the most was having not only a belt but an abdomen binder. It cost around $70 but was worth it. My Insurance paid for one and then I bought the 2nd one so I always had a clean one to change to. They are around 6 in. wide and wrap around your abdomen tightly with velcro to fit snugly, it has an opening for the bag (which was special ordered to fit the bag size). It helped hold everything in place and if I had an accident I would see it on the binder first and was able to change quicker. Now that I had the take down I sure don't miss all of this, in fact I don't know what even happened to the binder when I went into surgery (most likely it was thrown away).

mustlovedogs this also happened to me 2x at school right when i went back i was a total wreck no one knew what happend except the teachers but it was so overwhelming AND MY MOM MADE ME STAY at school (she brought me a pair of clothes to change into though :)
