New and enlightened...

Awww, I remember I was worried a couple years ago when I had to my colonoscopy.  I was worried if I was going to get any motion.  I started drinking that stuff at noon that day.  I didn't even start doing anything till the wee hours of the morning, like 2 or 3am.  I still wasn't cleared out, and my report said I still had feces in there.  Keep us informed, and I hope everything works out!

Sigh.... what's plan B?

Ok, last update for today:

I talked to my Dr and he said that I am the most challenging patient hes ever had and he doesn't know what else to do to cleanse me. I feel I deserve an award, perhaps a trophy or a medal saying "#1 person full of crap" haha. He's basically passing me off to a more....special? specialist... The kind that does the transit time test... That guy will be taking over from now on. Unlucky for me, they don't have those in Nevada and I have to go out of state. I requested Seattle so I can at least stay with me parents... We'll see where it goes from here...

In case anyone is still interested I felt the need to post an update. It helps to write here since my only friends that know of my issue are my friends at work (since I work for doctors they're always asking) and my bf.

I had attempt number two at a colonoscopy after I got my new GI since the last one gave up on me. It was successful enough for my liking. They didn't find much just like I expected... I finished the sitz marker test last week and by day 5 and again on day 7 there were 14/24 rings left... My follow up appointment with my doctor was today and he told me he hasn't seen a case as bad as mine in 8 or 9 years... So.... that's special.. lol He's referring me to a surgeon which makes me somewhat nervous. Normally it wouldn't be but last week I met a patient at my work that recently had one done and he told me so much about the surgery. It freaked me out a little bit. He showed me his stomach and the 90 something stitches he had. I can't believe how long the incision is!! I'm not saying age matters, but, at 24 I shouldn't have that long of a scar going down my stomach unless its from having a kid!! Lol and THOSE incisions aren't as big or in that direction.... Anyways, nervous. But I'm ready to be able to get skinnier and I can't do that when I'm full of poop...

I have to potentially do an anorectal motility test. Has anyone done one of those? Is it awkward? You're awake right?

Ask about laprasocopic surgery. I have four small scars from surgery (one inside my belly button), and the others about the size of tic tacs.

Thanks so much for the update! I'm glad to hear that you have surgery scheduled and that they can do it laproscopically, so you're on the path to finally getting this problem taken care of!

Everyone's healing time is different, but with any major surgery, you can plan on needing at least 6 weeks to heal and get your energy back. I was out driving and grocery shopping only two weeks after my proctocolectomy, so you will get bursts of energy here and there, but your body will need a lot of time to rest and heal.
