I can hardly believe that soon I'm going to live my life without a bag, without having to empty it, without having to cut it, change it, etc. I'm reading a lot of really great stories here but Jackie's experience right now has me worried. Also worried about having leakages, and really worried about if, what happens if I go back to work and have to run to the toilet 20 times a day? I'm wondering if I should do home office for 3 weeks until things get a bit regulated, but I'm afraid I'll just keep having diarrhea 20 times a day for months.
I'm in the same boat and feel the same way as you. I had the pouch surgery Oct 14 and was scheduled for a mid Dec takedown but the Doc didn't like the pouchogram results so i went in for some corrective work and everything seems ok now. I'm scheduled for takedown Feb 10 and just like you I am nervous/worried.
I am super excited about
getting rid of the pouch and feeling as close to "normal" as possible even though I know I will never be like before. But at least I know I have some level of control with how often I have to go to the bathroom based on my diet. I've already made some changes and the two biggest for me that i think will be very helpful are completely cutting out sugar and only drinking water. Oh yeah, and more fruits and veggies. ;)
Fortunately I work from home so I won't have to deal with that side of things. If I were you I would work from home for a bit until the back door is working like old times.
Good luck with your surgery.
