theyre takin me away (the docs)

im so nervous theyre putting me under w/ an ng tube its so uncomfortable i pray to GOD that they take it out and hopefully i get the gas maske they want to do an iv and i never use an iv huh   ... I LOVE THIS website so much  thanks for all the support ...

Well Jackie we are here and I think some great force is making this last stretch extra stressy and difficult for you. I want to avoid all the usual stuff about how this is going to make you stronger because you are strong enough already and you do not need what is happening right now, but these things are ruled by cells and biological processes that have their own logic we cannot control. It is going to get better very very soon.
I repeat: all this crappy discomfort will be over soon. You are almost there. Just hang on a bit longer and tolerate all this hospital stuff. If you get an iv it is nothing, I had one in me for days and really didn't notice it. It just makes it easier to give you stuff.

     Jackie, my ng tube worked itself out in my sleep!!!   I am referring to the 2nd ng tube while I was hospitalized following my total colectomy with end ileo.  The reason I had to have it placed in about four days post op is that one of the resident's told me I could eat...well, eat I did...and OH BOY...everything came back up .  My surgeon said it would be best to place the ng tube back down, otherwise I would be barfing my guts up all night and I sure didn't want that to happen.  The worse is having that thing placed down..ugh.  I had two residents doing it (not the resident who told me I could eat..by this time I think she was hiding somewhere cause she got balled out by my surgeon).  The two residents were great.  One did the deed while the other just told me to keep taking gulps out of the water glass.  It brought up two or three large flasks of bile, so the surgeon was right.  A few days later the tube was out.  I thought something broke off in my stomach..lol.  But, my surgeon said it must have come out in my sleep.  By then I was ok though.

     I hope you are feeling better!!

Thanks for the update! I'm so thankful that you made it through surgery and don't have that awful NG tube anymore! That's too funny that you took it out yourself! You go, girl!

I'm amazed that you were out of bed and straightening up your hospital room just a few hours after surgery... they must have given you some really good pain meds! lol

Praying that you have a very smooth and uneventful recovery from here on out.

How are things today? Hope your having a better day and better days to follow? Did they tell you what happened.....adhesions, bowel looped? and the ng tube....funny story!!! lol You can add that one to your arsenal of stories!

im doing well the surgeon found booth he said he found adehsions under my stoma and he also said i had blockage! today he gave me permissionto eat yay i drank a little bit of water and half a cup of jello :]. iam taking my TIME this time around hopefully i can controll my tastebuds and not eat a burger soon lol. any suggestions of soft foods ---i have no idea lol i got up to walk around the unit ummmmm the place where they order my tylenol is closed for the day so i have to have morphine all day unless i eat a solid meal (
which i doubt ) my mom is doing my hair now because it's nappy /matted it hurts :/ a lil but hopefully we can get it finished because i dont know if we can have hair straightners in here plus its kinda old so its smokey lol ... i cnat wait to take a shower and eventually sleep on my stomache. my pain isnt to bad today it's mainly pain from the insicion! the doc. said i can probally go home wed. or early thursday :))))  ...the i said to my doctor this might sound crazy but i want to go to a concert fri. night do you think thats ok he said yes so hopefully i feel ok. i live in indianapolis indiana so the superbowl is here and there having free concerts and fri. night is an *** concert i just recently started listning to them and it would be my 1st concert to!!!! thanks everyone for encouraging me i apperciate it :)

IT'S SO HARD im suppose to be on a liquid diet but im SUPER HUNGRY this has been like the 1st time i diddnt do doctors order i ate a recesses candy and now im craving FOOD huh i just want some ravilo and ill be done!!!!

Not a good idea to eat chocolate now, as you know..... hang in. It's hard to be hungry, but it's worse to be vomiting.... hope it went OK. How are you today?

hey everyone today i can eat my pain is more of insicion pain ugh my belly button keeps bleeding lowkey scary todayat the hospital there was a super-bowl party and there was pizza there so i snaged a pepparoni (however u spell it) pizza ate it slow and drank water my bowels are comming out quick i pooped about 5 times today and its only 11:09 am so thats good because im suppose to be pooping :) a LOT so im happy
