Allergy relief?

Since we have had such a mild winter, my allergies are really bad this year. Can you tell me what you take for your allergies? So many of them are time released which doesn't work for us. Any suggestions?

My wife had horrible allergies and tried shots, acupuncture and about every kind of drug her doc could come up with, all to no avail. Then someone suggested she substitute honey for the sugar she put in her coffee and it worked. To be most effective, it's best if it's honey from local hives, as that will have the local pollen in it.

Not sure what the honey does to ostomies, since when I had mine, sweets would, shall we say, make me flow freely.

I suffer with allergies, it started in my early 20's and progressively worsened. In my 30's, constant sinusitis and infections, even horrible migraines. I hate medicating myself, hate nasal spray. So, about 3 years ago, I bite the bullet and bought the Neti Pot. It's the salt nasal cleanser. I clean my nose before bed. I sleep much better, allergy and sinus infection free, nasal relief when having a stuffed up nose. It's a must perform, couldn't live without it! And have my kids using it too.

My sister did the shot regime about 25 years ago. It was like every week for months and then it tapered down. She now goes annually, and still she's so dependent on her nasal spray and allergy meds because she still can't breath. Prolonged nasal spray use, it causes migraines and sometimes cardiovascular issues. I've been telling her to at least try the Neti Pot, if it doesn't work at least you gave it a shot. Anythings better than this!

So Sue, even though it's 12 or 24 it's safe for us to take? I wasn't sure if the reason we shouldn't take it was because it would cause too much medication coming at once or that it just doesn't work that well because of our 6 hour transit time. So, the other question would be, do you take yours every 6 hours instead of 12 or 24?

Thanks! The allergies are a trigger for my migraines, which is new, and I hate taking my migraine medication so these suggestions help.

Thanks! I'm going to go to CVS now! You know, since I'm off all that medication, they really miss me there so they will be happy to see me. It's pretty bad when you walk in the door and they greet you by name!
