so my takedown surgery was 3.15.I felt fine after surgery, went home the following Sunday. Sunday afternoon I ate 2 pieces of popcorn shrimp, next thing I know I feel like someone is stabbing me in the stomach and Ive thrown up so much Im at the point of dry heaving. So I called my doctor and he said to go to the ER so they could re admit me. So I got re admitted, they gave me nausea medicine and morphine, it helped me get out of the fetal position at least. The next morning my doctor came to check on me and the next thing I know Im having a tube shoved down my throat. (at this point Ive only had 2 bowel movements since the surgery) so they get the tube down my throat and start me on liquids in my IV. The tube was HELL. I dont know any other way to describe it. Finally yesterday the tube was removed, Im still having the stomach pains and I have yet to have a BM. Granted the ONLY thing Ive put in my mouth is Jello and a popsicle, but it still worries me. And I knew in the beggining it wouldnt be a piece of cake for a little while but NO ONE prepared me for this.Has anyone else went through something like this? And tonight my nurse was giving me my morphine (my youngest daughter accidentally kicked me in the stomach) and I noticed she was giving it to me very slowly. So I asked why she was doing it so slow, she said administering pain medicine can cause stomach cramps, so now Im left wondering if that's been my issue all along? Regardless im still nervous and could use any advice I can get : ]
