Very happy for you!!!
I went through it last year and am living an incredibly active life, something that I thought I'd never be doing again after I was slammed with UC and had basically emergency surgery. It will only get better with time! Just remember you have to walk, walk, walk, walk, and then walk some more. I was forced by my nurse to walk the hospital after 3 days of absolutely refusing to walk because I literally didn't think I could. After that first walk, things went better and better every day.
Good luck and congratulations!
If you wanna look at my story here you go, I'm also 22 years old.
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=38&m=2328545I actually just took a very very bad motocross crash a month ago (recovering still from surgery for a broken collar bone). It was to the point where they were worried of internal injuries as well as a broken pelvis, and my j pouch was 100% fine!
Just to show you, the surgery will absolutely not stop you from doing ANYTHING.
