biofeedback therapy?

I spent the morning shopping and and when I got home I had poop all over the feminie pad I wear all the time. I am freaking out again. I am starting therapy next week for this. But I just read somewhere that they are calling into question if biofeedback really has any effect on fecal incontinence.

Will someone please tell me once more that their fecal incontinence was cured through physio and biofeedback?

I personally cannot help out with this question but I am a member on jpouch.org and I just went there and entered biofeedback therapy in the search box and a bunch of posts came up on the topic. I read just a few and those I read we're positive. Log in on there and check it out. Glad your therapy is finally next week.

I checked earlier and didn't find anything very conclusive, one way or the other. And the posts there can get really chaotic...

well it is a support forum for people having trouble. You could say the same thing about healingwell then too. Precisely the reason I stick around to help to post positive things.

I found them in the meantime. Earlier I did a search in one of the parts of the forum, not the forum in general, so I got some strange posts. Those success were good to read. There is something about that site though, on the one hand it gets specifically into jpouch issues more deeply than here, but this site is a lot more positive and sane. I've read things on jpouch org that were scary, chaotic and not so helpful.

That's exactly it. When I was reading those, I stepped away slowly from the site trying not to make eye contact lol shocked

Mostly in the Pouchitis/Need Advice Now forum. Those to I tend to avoid.
Now if I can get rid of this darn butt burn I would be perfectly fine. I want to run but sweat + butt burn + running is probably a close equivalent to pouring lighter fluid down your crack and lighting it on fire.

Calmoseptine is the only thing that gives me some relief and Nupercainal for the times when it really hurts. Desitin doesn't work. Monday needs to hurry so I can call my nurse to see if there is any heavy duty stuff to help heal the skin and protect it.

Hi Newshiny, My doctor gave me a perscription for cholestyramine against butt burn. It was perscribed for someone else on the site here against stoma-skin burn. The doctor said I could try it for butt burn but that I should speak with my GI about it first. Aside from that all I have is calmoseptine. Try imagining the burn when the stuff comes out of your butt and stays there for 20 minutes until you can get home or to the next bathroom. I am about ready to scream in public.
I a going to google nupercainal because I never heard of it. The Calmoseptine I have to get sent to me from the states because I can't get it here.

Nupercainal is a local anesthetic ointment used for hemorrhoids. It helps quite well for me. I think the only reason the Calmoseptine sorta works is because of the menthol in it which gives a cooling effect. Also it seems to be thicker than Desitin which is pretty liquidy and it gets everywhere.

There is something else called Ilex Skin Protectant which is supposed to be really awesome, but I have to order that online.

I'm also strongly considering buying a bidet.

Edit: Well I ordered a bidet. It is the Joy Bidet HC-2. It is a simple bidet, but turns out since I'm in an apartment the way my bathroom is setup I can't directly connect the hot water from the sink to the toilet without drilling through a wall. There also isn't an outlet in the toilet/tub area so it wouldn't make any since for me to buy an electronic one.
I also ordered some Ilex Skin Protectant to try that out.

It's commplicated with gettting a bidet. Not all bathrooms and toilets anre the same and even when the ad says the bidet works with any toilet, my toilet seems to be very unusual. There is nothing there to connect to and I don't see any spiket where the water can be turned on. At some point I have to get a plumber up here to have a look and recommend a bidet unit that would work with my toilet. But I'm still waiting to hear if I get to keep my job.
