curious....what types of appliances do people use, have used in past, are your favorites?

I am wondering about the different kinds of appliances out there. They think I might be allergic to the tape of my appliance, convatec sure fit, two piece. I already use the white tape because I was allergic to the beige....now I am wondering if there is something better out there, less irritating.

This is what I did-I called Coloplast, Hollister, etc. and had then send me samples of their appliances. They sent me about 4 of each, just enough to see if I like wearing each type. I ended up with the Hollister 2 piece charcoal pouch system. I am in love! No gas build up. I do get a little bit edgy when the stool gets in the charcoal part, but the good outweighs the bad. Go to google and type in either colostomy or ileostomy and the companies should pop up with the websites and phone numbers. Worked out pretty well for me. Good Luck!

I use the Hollister 2-piece Convex system...New Image Drainable Lock and Roll pouches in beige..these are the only things that really are comfortable for me to wear. All other either fall off me, or irritate my skin. They are comfy and work well for people like me too skinny from surgery.

I alternate between Coloplast's Assura Inspire two piece and the Easiflex. I must admit though the Easiflex is the better of the two- extremely low profile even though it's a two piece and I have to use a convex baseplate. It's as discrete as a one-piece and very flexible.

 Hi my name is mya  i also am highly allerlic to adhesive appliances an the barrier wipes. ''im thinking maybe the wipes are the porblem. so i was wandering if you could let me know how the white tape an bags worked out.?right now i am using E-Hob non-adhesive system - o ring / and belt not liking much,im having to much problems w/ keeping air space contorling the odor. dont sleep nites cause of it.

   I loved the other ones but like i said before the sticky stuff wont work w/me.  so maybe if you found anything that works well. you could let me know. im up for anything at this point in time. please i will be looking at this site again really soon.

I was fortunate in that the very first bag that I tried was the right one for me. In the hospital I was given Coloplast Assura drainable one piece with the velcro roll up and hideaway end. It's self adhesive so I don't have to mess around with extra tape or anything. And I have only ever had one leak in over 2 years of having my Ileostomy. No skin problems either.
