ROSEMARY UPDATE

Thanks if this works I am thinking had I known of mt s three months ago I would have saved myself a lot of grief glad I found the article on stoma revision on the net and contacted the author who ended up being my surgeon

There was great joy when I pooped that night of surgery. Here goes a bit of solids. Gas is popping and rolling so far just like when my ostomy was new. If this works it will be a miracle.

I know! If stoma redo's are possible and in severe need as was mine then why would someone leave a person to implode with their own gas and feces. Is immoral if you ask me. I gotta go easy on these eggs but wow are they good. Rosemary

Rosemary I really wish you had gone there in teh first place instead of wasting all that time researching that German quack! My own GI told me to go to mt sinai, but I haven't been insured in the states for years so I had all the surgery here in Berlin. I would always be treated in a learning hospital becaus ethe doctors are always going to international conferences and talking to each other about state of the art medicine. It's crazy that mtsinai is so enlightened and knowledgeable, and yet another hospital in the same country is totally ignorant and can't be bothered looking for more answers when they can't figure out what is wrong with you. Really absurd.
But I am really thrilled for you that they got to the root of the problem and redid your stoma, and the nightmare of the last months is over. Mainly you must be so relieved to be able to eat normally whatever you like, and that you're in trustowrthy hands where you feel safe.

Rosemary, I am so so happy to hear that you are doing well! And, as has been said, it's really frustrating to now think of the way those other doctors treated you. So absolutely wrong. But I'm very glad you found the right surgeons, who truly want to help you get back on those cruises. :)

Thanks all I am thrilled needless to say. Am taking it really easy on solidS though they sure taste good. Praying all stays well. Gassy from the laproscopic air that is blown in but intestinal gas and stool passing. Thank god! Rosemary
