Small Bowel Follow Through

I am scheduled for a small bowel follow through finally after four months of waiting for some test to be done to show that I have stenosis happening right behind my stoma! I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this done and what it's like and if there are any side effects after drinking the barium. I have an ileostomy if that helps any. I keep getting blocked up every couple of days and haven't eaten much other than liquids for the last three months. My surgeon saw me a month after the big episode I had and was in the hospital for a week and they coulnd't find anything wrong with me... she did the finger test and suspects major stenosis but it took forever to get an appointment for tests to be done :(

Well at least I know that it wont' be some horrible probing test :) I'm just worried the barium will block me up afterwards, I keep getting blocked up every couple days (no this is not an exaggeration) and I'm getting pretty fed up after four months of feeling like crap almost every day. The pain and nausea aren't pleasant, I"m living on mostly liquids and not much solids and when I do it's not usually pretty but I get so hungry...

Well hopefully this gives her the "proof" she needs other than the finger test. Then it is just waiting to the end of the month to find out what the tests showed. Hopefully I don't get too blocked up between now and then and we can decide what to do to fix it. It's just frustrating because I did this to feel better and I was so hopeful and now I think I feel worse :(
