Your positive attitude is awesome! I'm so glad your surgery went well and that you are bouncing back so quickly. Seeing happy stories like this makes me less apprehensive about surgery; I'm seeing my GI next week to get referred to a colorectal surgeon.

Thank you all! I just know how it feels to be in your shoes as does everyone else on this forum. I am first of all lucky to be blessed with a good surgeon and a good surgical experience. I also did soooo much homework beforehand that has been very crucial here in the hospital. I have learned so much from all on this site. You wont realise how valuable this site and people are until you go through this. And yes above all yes faith and daily conversation with the lord has been my ultimate source of strength. I feel this is just another storm to weather that people will be able to see that all my strength and great attitude comes from knowing this is do-able for anyone and even life changing surgery can be used for his glory!!! But as a quick update everythkng is still getting better, docs vosited this morning and said our visits are pretty much just social now and they want me to eat solids today and be outta here tomorrow! 4 days in. Stoma has been working beautifully and i know im still in that "new" phase but as of now im looking at it as the little part of me thats giving me my life back! And for right now it is very easily manageable. Just being careful to chew my food to liquid consistency and drinking constantly! Finally slept pretty good last night. Incisions are really the only thing bothering me now! Not too bad tho. Everything is shaping up well! The blog is more in depth but just wanted all to know that everyhing is goin well :) thank you all for your support!!!

i just read all of your posts! thanks so much for blogging about it. i usually just stay on the UC forum but have decided to see a surgeon on sept. 7 for a consultation. i am actually really excited because i have no quality of life right now. i started flaring in sept. 2010 and it's been on and off ever since (mostly on). it's really helpful reading the forum so i can get an idea of everything that will probably be in my future.

the main thing i'm nervous about is the bag and having my small intestine out in the open. i'm so scared of germs and worry about all the infections i can get!
