Pain during sex after total colectomy

Did you have your butt sewn closed? I ask because that can take a while to heal even when the scars look okay. It took me a good couple of months after before I even felt comfortable trying. It wasn't painful, but maybe a bit uncomfortable for a while.

Yikes! Didn't your surgeon tell you no sexual intercourse for six weeks after a total colectomy? I seem to remember your surgery was the second or third week of July. Wow, you are a brave woman. Even after the six weeks it may take a few times before it is really enjoyable. It takes a while for things to move back into the right places. I was told to contact my GYN if there was any pain or discomfort during intercourse after three months post surgery. There are physical therapy techniques that can eliminate pain or discomfort. I wish our doctors would speak more proactively about sex after surgery.

Everything worked out fine for me so I never went through the therapy. Give yourself a few more weeks. It is very rare for women to have problems. I think my doctors were worried because the exploding colon damaged six other organs while I stewed in the toxins for 18 hours.

Three doctors in a row refused to look at the pieces of intestine the nurses saved for them too look at. It started coming out of me shortly after midnight. The doctors kept telling the nurses it was "normal morphology" and that the nurses were overreacting. Finally, I bled out, my heart stopped and the gi on duty decided something was really wrong. Luckily, a nurse ignored the GI and asked a colorectal surgeon to take a quick look while he was visiting someone else. The GI was still scheduling an MRI when the surgeon had me rushed to an or. Every day I think of that nurse. If she had not brought in the surgeon, I would probably not be alive. She broke lots of rules and saved my life. The main Gi responsible has moved to another state. The surgeon called it a major disaster that could have been avoided. I suspect his complaints are the reason the main GI is no longer here.

Jackie do you have an IUD? I asked because after my last surgery I was having the same problem, for months, and I went and had it checked and found out it was falling out and that was the cause of the pain.

Haha, this Jackie is the same as the other Jackie. Clubbing right after operation, sex, etc. I didn't knew Jackies were so feisty. I gotta get me one of those. lol

Yea.lol but now I have something else going on I am bloated again and I hope it's just me about to get my period. I hope I am not having blockage from something I ate. Anyone got any ideas?
Yes I am one awesome girl right lol I feel good enough to.do a lot but I hope its not hurting me on the inside.
