Well guys i just dont understand... Found out about the clot and am taking care of that. Woke up this morning with sharp pain about an inch beside my belly button incision on the right. It hurts pretty bad like a deep twinge when i breathe and talk. Along with this i been runnin a 100 degree fever today and im 2 and a half weeks post op??? I really dont get it. Thought the pain maybe somehow normal like nerves comin back. Anybody have that beside belly button pain that far out of surgery? Or a low grade fever that far out? I have been having reddish brown drainage from belly button incision but doesnt smell bad and not hot or swollen. Crazy thing is All labs from ER TWO days ago were normal, even abdomen CT. I just dont get it??? Any experience with any of thos?

Are you still in the hospital or back home again?

Hopefully someone will have some answers for you as my husband didn't run into any of the stuff you are experiencing. And I don't recall anybody else commenting along these lines.

If you are still in the hospital (I hope) then they certainly should be able to answer most of this for you to set your mind at ease.

Not in hospital was discharged uesterday. Belly button incision is draining a lot and severe pain next to incision. Fever keeps goin up. I guess ill be headed back to ER tonight....

Thank you me too. Im sure the lap incision is infected. But im where i need to be :) thanks for the reply! Maybe someone will chime in with similar experience

no experience with the infection, but i had the same pain you are talking about. With both surgeries i had the pain was in the same spot, although it was farther out for me. I think like a month or so out of surgery.

Yea iv heard that pain is common so i wasnt real worried except the drainage from incision was increasing and the pain i am having there is so bad i cant hardly talk or breathe in deep! Its the worst pain iv jad since surgery

Well i should be leaving ER in just a sec. All infection and wbc counts were normal, air in belly from surgery is gone. No explaination for fever or the excruciating pain that just started to the right of belly button but i guess if things are normal then i shouldnt worry. Its just alarming to me. But apparently all is well :)

well done for getting it checked, you did the right thing. it's a scary period post surgery and you just have no idea what's normal or not. hopefully you'll get a bit of respite and recovery now without any more ER trips.. but if there is anything you're worried about, just get back there. take care and big hugs x

Thanks so much! I think i just worry cause i felt so great up until the two week mark then i hit a wall for no good reason. Its so hard to believe its all "normal" lol i guess healing is just a strange thing

I am so sorry you are having this issue. Hang in there, I promise you will look back at this time one day and be amazed... As my mother says, "this too shall pass!" I remember thinking just last year after my surgeries that life would never be the same...and it's better!

What is normal for one is totally different for another after surgery. So many kooky things can happen but if they are bumps in the road that get resolved easily then it is easier to deal with. Others have a greater challenge it seems.

Such a difficult thing to deal with suffering all those years, meds that ultimately don't help so many along with all the other problems trying to live and deal with this disease. Then to finally make up your mind to have the surgery and still have some issues it can be discouraging for sure. Just hope and pray in the end it works out for everyone and was the better choice to go and have the surgery.

It makes the decision process challenging to go ahead with the surgery sometimes but when you are so bad and nothing helps and you basically can't do a darn thing, surgery is the answer. And most everyone will still say they have no regrets having the surgery. Yes it is a new normal but most times a better situation than before the surgery.
