Ridgerunner and Larasmom
There are two Friars compounds. One is not waterproof and washes off with soap and water. The other is waterproof and it takes alcohol to remove it. I know. I spilled it on the bathroom vanity twice. That is the one to use. When changing the Friars comes off with the wafer and leaves no residue. I only clean up with water and paper towel. I buy the select-a-size and use 1/2 a sheet at a time. Makes a nice little pad. No soap, no powder, no adhesive remover, etc. Clean with water and paper towel and dry with a hair dryer. Apply Friars with a q-tip around your stoma and where the wafer sticks. Dry again with hair dryer. It will be sticky when dry. Stick the wafer on and you are done. It does not irritate the stoma but will sting on open skin.
I order it from a pharmacy in Canada. Web address is well.ca. Two Friars. One is $5.49 and the other is $9.49 for a 50 ml bottle plus shipping. You want the $9.49 product.
I have been using it for a few years with great success. I have never had a leak. I have gone 9 days without a change and no leak. Friars is a first aid product and helps to heal.
