UC wife made a  comment on another thread about staying ahead with supplies. That brings up another topic. The last two times I ordered supplies from Edgepark they asked how many days supply I have. She said that medicare now allows an order to be shipped only when you are down to a week supply. Anybody else hear this?

That doesn't seem right. Dont' they have the allowance posted on their website somewhere? What's from stopping everyone from saying that they only have 3 days worth yet? Seems like someone just pulled something outta their butt on that one.

Edgepark has been asking us that question for some time now. I tell them about 10 days even though we do have extra on hand. Sorry...no way am I gonna let his supplies be in that kind of short supply and jeopardy. It is ludicrous to think people should be that close on running out. This recent hurricane and other weather situations in the past make it all the more evident that you need to have more "on hand". I do put a date on the boxes when they come in so he is always rotating the stock so to speak. I have old samples on hand too that could work in a pinch if needed.

     Yes Dan, they have been asking me that question since I turned 65 in August of 2011.  Before turning 65 my primary insurance was Personal Choice Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Pa.  NO PROBLEMS whatsoever with them.  My husband warned me to make sure I had plenty of supplies in reserve when under Personal Choice.  So glad of the warning.  When I first went on Medicare as my primary, ugh, what a pain in the butt!  I didn't receive any supplies for two months because Edgepark told me Medicare ok'd the stoma powder and reliamed deodorizing drops but would not ok the bags rolleyes .  Go figure.  Good thing I had plenty stocked up.  After sending my surgeon a ton of paperwork to fill out...a form for every cockamainie item....Medicare finally said ok to the bags.  Edgepark sends me an email every month before my shipment and they still ask how many boxes of Coloplast I have.  I just tell them one week's supply.  Much easier that way..lol.  Another thing...Medicare will only send the deodorizing drops every three months.  If you get the deodorizing drops, they will not send the deodorizer in the package...I forget the name right now.  But, did you see how much Edgepark bills Medicare for the bags?  Outrageous!!  Something like $300 or better!!!   Of course Medicare doesn't pay that.
