Is anyone else in direct line of this storm?

We are, and I called Wednesday to order more supplies.  So far I have not even gotten the call to say my order has shipped.  They must be working overtime!  I have plenty, but this storm really does have me nervous. 

     Yeah, we're in Bellmawr, NJ, exit 3 of the turnpike.  My dopey daughter left her trailer on site at a campground down near Smithville, NJ.  Smithville was flooded just from a heavy rainfall during the summer, so hate to see what happens after Sandy .  Oh well, we can only warn them, at 40 yrs old they should know better.

     Right now, it is raining pretty heavy and there is an occasional gust of wind.  AC is pretty much flooded, boo hiss because we have reservations at the AtlaniClub for an overnight stay Thursday .  Some of the boardwalk is already washed away.  The brunt of the storm hasn't even hit yet.

     I have plenty of ostomy supplies, so good there.  We also did our grocery shopping yesterday.  I had to buy the homemade bread because the bread isle was empty..guess people just eat bread when they lose power.  I am making homemade baked beans in my crock pot today...mmmm...smells good!!!

I keep thinking of how much harder this would all be if I were still sick/recovering.... Hope all stays calm, Amythyst.

I'm in western PA where we're getting the wind and heavy rain tonight. We'll have some flooding, but the rivers and creeks were way down, so hoping it won't be bad.

I hope I will be able to get out tomorrow for my appointment with my surgeon to discuss my takedown, scheduled in 2 weeks. I've been jumping through the testing hoops for 2 weeks, getting clearance from my cardiologist, etc. The surgeon is only in half a day twice a week, so I'm anxious about this visit.

     Just listened to a speech from our governor.  Someone asked him how this devastation from Hurricane Sandy will impact election day next week.   For him, I think he was very nice in relating the fact that he really didn't give a darn  about the election right now.  His main concern is helping the people of NJ rebound from this catastrophe.  I think what he really wanted to say was..."Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass right now about the election."  Gotta love our governor!

We got hit mildly...VERY mildly. Only lost some branches and our swingset bit the dust. But I am so glad I was home, the hospital I was in was closer to the coast than my house! You are right esor, I can't imagine if you had to deal with all that too..are you doing well?

It is so sad to watch the news and see the devastation. We have endured some bad storms over the years, lost power, took in some water up north and also here in Florida but NOTHING compared to what some of these areas are experiencing. When you are dealing with an inconvenience it seems more bothersome than it really is in comparison to the total loss so many are dealing with. Heartbreaking.

On a different note....situations like this make it very important to try to keep ahead of supplies if possible so you are never that close if there is a real shipping dilemna since you can't just go out to a store and buy these type of supplies.

Glad to hear you all survived the storm with minimal damage. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones and/or their homes. It's so sad to see the devastation on TV. Living in Florida my whole life, I have witnessed the destruction hurricanes can cause and my heart goes out to everyone up there.
