I tried ordering my supplies this month and found out the hard way that Edgepark no longer accepts Blue Cross insurance. I didn't even get a memo. I found out when I tried ordering and my grand total was $575. Thanks a lot Edgepark!

I've tried investigating other places and none seem to carry sure seals. I love sure seals. This is stressful when I need my supplies and have no where to get them from. Are there any companies that have a big selection like Edgepark?

I find it hard to believe that Edgepark does not accept Blue Cross. Call back and ask for a supervisor. Answers can be different.

I have bluecross and just ordered supplies from edgepark yesterday and received them today. Call them, there could be a glitch in the online processing. And ask for (demand) a supervisor as dan said. The first line customer service at Edgepark isn't generally that helpful.

Same here... Blue Cross Blue Shield. I ordered last week just fine.

A few weeks ago I had trouble picking up a prescription. They said that insurance rejected it...which was odd because I had had the script before. I called my insurance and they said everything was fine. I called the pharmacy the next morning and they had a giant stack of rejected BCBS prescriptions...something had been wrong with their computer system. So definitely follow-up.

Also, did you check that your insurance information was up to date in the online system?

Absolutely follow through.... no way could Blue Cross no longer be accepted....there is a definite goofy glitch going on here. Heck...Blue Cross is like the "cadillac" of insurance coverages.

Something needs to be resubmitted, re-coded or something.

I thought this seemed very strange too. I will try calling Edgepark again. I'm not sure why they would tell me that.

I just called again and was told that as of October 14th BCBS in Michigan changed their policy about ordering items from out of state. So now I have to find somewhere local.

Ugh!!! Stupid rules...you could be closer to an out of state supplier than an in-state supplier, depending on your location.

Your insurance company has a list of their "approved" suppliers and should have it on their website or they can email it to you.

So are we to assume that in Michigan NO MATTER WHAT someone needs through their Blue Cross that there is a company located in the state to supply it...I bet there will be exceptions needed. Not to mention insured's being "stuck" and forced to use a supplier that might not be a good one...geesh. That could also give ideas to companies to charge more if there is little or no competition....sounds screwy to me.

Call Blue Cross and tell them you can't find a supplier in MI. Ask them who to order supplies from. When they can't tell you, Ask for a supervisor. They changed the rules. If no good answer, call again. Get someone else. Be a pain in the *S*. We all know what a problem a pain in the *S* can be. Make them do anything to get rid of you.

I just spoke with an Edgepark supervisor. It is correct. Edgepark is no longer contracted with Blue Cross of Michigan. IT IS A MICHIGAN RULING, NOT EDGEPARK. It does not affect me or I would be on the phone with Michigan congress reps.

Sara..you shouldn't have to make do...that is outrageous that you can't have access to the type of supplies you need/want. This is pathetic for a company to do this. This is just the beginning...I bet there will be some changes down the road over this as this is going to turn into a bigger issue is my guess.

I have BCBS as well, and they will not pay for anything out of network. Its crazy that I live in Alabama and cant order from Georgia, but Byrams is in my network and they are in Illinois or wherever. Its crazy

This is not a Blue Cross issue. It is a Michigan decision. Michigan did not renew the contract with Edgepark.

Placed an order with Edgepark Monday. Fine and dandy. One hour ago I got a call from Edgepark. Same story as Sue. Blue cross does not pay the 20% that medicare does not.

Left a message on the phone for Michigan senator and representative. Blue Cross is next.

I went with Wright and Filippis. Cleveland Clinic took their sweet time faxing my prescription, so my order just got shipped out last Wednesday. I'm sad they don't have sure seals. I guess I will have to request free samples from active lifestyle product.

W & P has the wafers and pouches that I use. I placed my order with them.

Searching the web it looks like other states are doing the same thing. I think it is a political thing. They want to keep the BC money spent in the home state.

Be ready....BC changes may be coming to your home town too.

I fear this is Obama Care I am ordering on Monday I live in AL on the FL line all my doctors, hospitals, suppliers, and everything are in FL. My Hubby works in law enforcement for state, and some of the officers are from FL I wonder how all this is going to work....................? Have not recieved any info from the "state" BCBS
the new "rules" always come in a new packet at first of year. Guess I will be screwed cause the one place I found in AL was sky high and I had to pay my 20% deductable with Dura Med I don't. Just more stress for us durable users. Will bring this up at our next Ostomy meeting on Dec 3rd to see if anyone there is aware of such gov/ins nonsense! Meeting in Pensacola, Fl of course a hour drive to location for meeting.
Wait I just remembered something, they just opened a new medical supplier carries Dura med by the little hospital here on the AL side will keep ya updated on the different options I have.

My father (81) years old just had another knee replacement and has BCBS of AR, and his doctor told him that major surgeries like his will not be available for anyone over the age of 50.....I fear "it is coming soon to a place near you" also. He also said that the paper work coming across his desk even scares him.

This is a state issue, not federal. It is DC/BC of the state. I have contacted my MI senate rep and got a phone number to call to lodge a complaint. I left a phone message with the MI house rep and met with a staff member last thursday. They are looking into it. Meanwhile I have found a supplier in MI.

At first I thought this was another edgepark issue. They have always been great except the last few months.
