I helped to place my own stoma, actually. When I went in for the marking, I asked for as low as it would go and still be functional so that after all is said and done the scar would be easily hide-able under pants, undies, and bikini bottoms. Plus, I didn't want it too close to my navel because I want my belly button to be the main attraction of my abdomen so to speak. :-P It's all just vain aesthetics, but I'm happy with it! I heard from another stoma nurse that my WOC nurse is bolder with stoma placements than most - as soon as she saw mine she guessed who it was that marked the placement, LOL - it is lower than anyone else's I've seen. It means even most of my bag is hidden under my pants.

I didn't realize or think about
