Taking Tylenol

If Tylenol is effective for you, then go for it. Since you aren't on "any" meds, I take that to mean you aren't on any other pain meds as well?

If you feel ok taking aleve, that might help you more. When I had horrible cramps, my Gyno recommended them as I think they slow down the production of a certain hormone that makes cramps worse (forget which chemical). In addition, NSAIDs like Aleve are anti-inflammatory (while tylenol is not) which generall yields better results with cramp pain. That is, as long as you don't have any more limitations on NSAIDS.

Tylenol acetomenophin is the only painnkiller you can take. Others can cause obstructions a hernia even holes burned through intestines.

NSAIDS such as ibuprofen, alleve, etc can cause ibd flares, so with active crohn's or uc, they are usually not recommended (although my gi would let me take a few naproxen for menstrual cramps if I wasn't flaring too badly, as it really helped). If taking away the colon took away the ibd, however, then they are OK again.... one more perk.
