Ddd45- Back when I ordered mine, they only had one option. Looking at the photos though, mine are definitely the higher waisted ones- level 1 (they also didn't have level 2 back then... but the level 1 feel supportive enough for me). Though my stoma is two inches below my belly button, the top edge of my pouch lines up just above my belly button. I think the lower ones would not cover the top couple of inches of my pouch. I like the higher ones because they completely cover it. Most wraps roll up at the crease of my leg so I rarely use them. I LOVE the boxers because they sort of do the same thing as a wrap, but don't roll up.
It is hard to describe the fabric. It is definitely on the thicker side (as compared to Ostomy Secrets more silky fabric). These are designed to be supportive so they are thicker and stretchy- sort of in a bike short way but not as tight as bike shorts. I have never seen Spanx... so I am not sure how they compare to those tightness-wise. They are very wicking and do breathe well. I wear these running, hiking and climbing on very hot days in the summer and they never get clammy. The best I can describe it- the fabric is sort of similar to that of a nice high-quality wicking athletic stretchy sports bra. It is hard to describe without actually touching it because it is unusual. They are tighter than your average Target of Victoria's Secret cotton boy shorts though. They are designed to support and hold things in. They do still allow flow to the bottom of the pouch no problem though. Due to the tighter nature, the leg holes on the briefs do sometimes give me visible panty lines when I where them under yoga pants. That is why I love the boxers so much more. They are a lot more invisible under clothing.
I can't remember how much shipping was, but at first I only ordered one brief and one boxer just to make sure I liked them because I knew I wouldn't want to pay to send them back. Once I realized they were a good fit for what I wanted, I ordered a couple more of each. I see that they have some new colors so I may order some more of the boxers eventually since I wear mine so often. I did a currency calculator and it looks like they are about $17 US. That really isn't that bad.
Hope this helps.
