Well yay me

I finished training class to be a substitute teacher today. So now I canmake 71 dollars a day, woo hoo! I haven't had a paying job in over five years, so I'm excited about getting to make some money so that if I want to buy my husband a present he's not buying it for himself. And also I can save up enough for something totally wonderful. I don't know what but it will be great! So now all I have to do is fill out more forms and get a tb test and a dr to sign a form about hearing and seeing and such and I'm ready!

Thanks bootstrap! I very well may take you up on that! I'm lucky that I already know all the kids in the schools I will be subbing, so I won't be going in as a stranger, and I know all the teachers. I volunteer all the time, almost everyday, usually in the am in the library then in the afternoon in the library and throughout the day for various teachers and the office. And I also help at my sister's school where I know all the kids there too, and how things work. So I hope that will help me some. But on the same side it worries me because all the kids know me as a volunteer and while they listen to me now pretty good, they don't really HAVE to, and I can always leave if it gets rough, lol. I'm kind of nervous but excited too!

Oh that is so wonderful!  So proud of you and also a little jealous, too. Tehe  What kind of thoughts do you have on for saving up on that something special?  Are you considering something like a vacation, a material item for yourself/husband, or maybe some kind of new venture?  Ideas, ideas!  I'm so excited for you :)  Just the thoughts of what you can do with the extra moolah are enough to make one smile.

Sarah I am probably going to save up to get my legs done! :) I've lost large amounts of weight in the past and as a result have icky legs and no matter how much I exercise the skin is just there, so unless I build up crazy muscles its going to be there!
Or maybe I will go to mardi gras :)

In Ohio, anyone with a 4-year degree, in any area, can sub.  What does your state require?

I had my first sort of job today! I walked in to go help in the library, like everyday, and they were frantically searching for a sub. I said in a few weeks you can call me! The prinicpal asked what I was waiting on and I told her just somepaperwork, so she said quick call the county office and see if they could put me on through. Well, they wouldn't. But I told her I would go "volunteer" in the class, score a few brownie points. Until they found someone, or all day if they couldn't. And it was sixth grade! Threw me right under the bus,lol. I only ended up being in there for about an hour, but the kids were really good for me. So hopefully since I've done that the school will call me. :)
