Does anyone miss a good pooping on the throne?

This is more a post for humor.

Maybe it's a guy thing, i'm not sure, but pre UC and in the ten year total remission I once had, and even from time to time on good days nowadays (generally due to pred or now uceris), I actually loved sitting on the throne reading and pooping lol and I kmow its true for many a normie... In short order for me that is going to be just a pee, bag emptying and maybe some mucus from my rectal stump. Anyone miss quality throne time ? I realize for many of you/us the fun time of the throne is a distant memory vs a red tinged torrant.

I like me taking a good ol crap on the throne. The aromatic smells, the magazine, the feeling good of taking a big dump.....

It's only been a week and a half since my surgery....but NO WAY!! I spent so much time on the toilet with UC I could not be happier to be done with normal pooping!

That's what I love about having a jpouch. It's been a year, and it is still amazing to be able to sit on the toilet, have the great release, and then feel wonderfully empty.

When I was really sick I used to get a TON of reading done on the toilet... It reached the point where every time I stood up from having a BM I would have to go again, so I would just sit on the toilet for hours reading. Uh, not an enjoyable lifestyle, but I do miss having so much reading time. Of course now I spend that time *sleeping* which is much nicer :)

I'm female and I missed the feeling of a good evacuation. Not necessarily the smells or the sitting or reading, but just having all of that stuff leave me.

I knew I wasn't going to get that anymore anyway, so it wasn't hard to say goodbye.

A friend of mine recently told me that she finds the pile of magazines in my bathroom "tactless" because it lets the world know that I sit there for long streches. Not even magazines with pictures, either, but long, long articles. I mentioned that it is not the entire world that is going to enter my bathroom, in fact, only good friends who should already imagine that I would keep magazines there. I've heard the joke, too, about why don't i just set up a little table over the toilet and bring my laptop. Isn't that why the smartphone was invented, I answered.
So OK, if I got my friends as far as to make jokes about illness and then jpouch, things can't be so bad.

God Yes! I would roll back time in a heartbeat if I could but at this point I would settle for a working stoma. Rosemary

I miss farting, or at least, farting from the rear! Having to make toilet visits just to expel gas is one of the more annoying parts of an ostomy. The occasional times of waiting to get to the toilet with a Zephyr expanding out under ones clothes is also annoying!

I don't miss 20 minute throne visits 10x a day at all!!! Now it's in and out in 2mins...wonderful!! And now I have 3-4 hours of extra time to do cool fun stuff :-D

After my first surgery I was SO relieved not to have to sit my butt on a toilet! After going 30x a day (no exaggeration) it was such a blessing. But then about 2 months into it, I actually started missing going to the bathroom "the old fashion way".

With my j pouch, I'm in and out of the bathroom as quick as I was emptying the bag. It's all good!

Every once in a while I'll see a well formed big poop -- someone didn't flush or clean up after a dog, and I have a moment of thinking that I never really appreciated what a big deal it was to be able to poop that way when I could and I wonder if whoever is responsible for leaving the poop there appreciated it....

But overall, no..... I used to be up several times a night in the bathroom just waiting to get all the blood and such out, then going back to bed for two minutes and having to run back because it turned out I wasn't done.... that was my bathroom life, and I don't miss it (although I did take the magazine rack out of the bathroom..... )

Not really but in preparation for a scope in early April, doc has had me on proctofoam which has essentially stopped the daily mucous output. Its a foam that seems to coagulate the mucous into a pinkish couloured mini poop that I expel every 3 days or so...kind of weird using my butt again...not sure what to think of it.

I do miss it a bit, yeah. I don't much enjoy emptying the bag; it's not as fun as a proper old-fashioned poop. But then again, it wasn't like I was having those nice poops pre-surgery. More often than not they were agonising affairs, and I don't miss that in the slightest.

Not in the least. The last month of my illness, before surgery, put me over the edge. There is no way I miss the roller coaster of UC and all that came with it.
