Regular blockages anyone?

I have only ever had two blockages and was able to resolve them at home. (Knock on wood!)

I've never had a blockage in my ileostomy's 36 year history. I was also never given a diet to follow so my choice of foods have nothing to do with it.

Bear in mind, most blockages are caused by adhesions, NOT food so they're more likely if you've had multiple surgeries resulting in scar tissue.

I had an end stoma and then a loop stoma for a total of 12 months with no blockages. I've been living with a jpouch for one year now, no blockages. I was always very careful and avoided all the foods that people said could cause blockages. Wait - there was one episode with the end stoma, I'd eaten a lot of marzipan at night and the next day my bag leaked because of pancaking on top of the stoma, but Idon't know if that was because all the marzipan came out in one clump, or because that would just happen once in a while.
