Salt water or Epsom salt bath water...effect on adhesive

Hi, I just wondered if any of you have experience with salt water (like Ocean Water) or with Epsom salt baths. Do they seem to knock down the wear time?

Similarly, what about Chlorine water?

I wear the sure seals, and I swim four times a week in chlorine.... have not noticed any decrease in wear time. I haven't been in the ocean since surgery (or taken epsom salts baths) but I don't see why that would be a problem.

Before I wore the sure seals, taking a few baths would start peeling off my wafer.... but no problem w/the sure seals.

Wow, youw wafer doesn't turn into gelly?
I can't take a comfortable shower without reinforcing the flanges.
Tell me more :D

Sure seals, they're awesome .... that is how I reinforce the flange. ChronieCJ mentioned in your other post some tape that's like them .... they're like the tegaderm plastic used to hold IV's down.... breathes air, but keeps out water. Holds down the wafer, and can also contain a leak....

The problem with those tapes is I can't get them in my country :(.
I will look for it when I visit UK.

That tegaderm is amazing; it would be awesome to find a cheap alternative :).

try "me-fix" tape.

and yes water - ocean water too - does decrease wear time a bit for me. So I use sure seals or taping the edges with me-fix tape or just change more frequently.

I don't notice a difference with pools or anything, but if there is a whole lot of chlorine it will sometimes eat at the seal. I don't like the ocean but the times I have been in it does seem to take a day or two off my wear time.
