wafer - stoma clearance

How much clearance do you give your wafer from the edge of stoma?

I was told 1/8 - 1/4 inch & wonder if that may be part of the problem I am having.  This last change I did more like 1/16 and even cut it a bit oval shaped to reflect the current shape of my stoma.

How do you all cut it?

No clearance; I don't want output getting on the skin around the stoma. It's sore as it is, albeit superficially so.

My wafers are pre-sized 7/8 inch. Clearance depends on stoma. Sometimes it is out and leaves no clearance. Sometimes it is retracted and I have to guess where to put the wafer to be centered when it comes out.

I aim for about 1/8 inch- I have seen how my stoma can gyrate around sometimes when active, and I want to ensure there is enough space for my adapt or eakin ring to sneak out and turtleneck the gap- it seems t me if there is zero gap, it has a hard time turtlenecking. I seem to get a better seal by allowing this 1/8" then with no gap at all, plus it means I dint have to sweat cuttng it perfectly to fut the shape. My stoma at a little over 3 months is almost perfectly round though- not including a few bumps on the peristomal edge (those granulomas at suture sites mentioned in your earlier read by others?). I am going to start ordering mine precut to 1-1/8" methinks.

I have no clearance either I had the stoma nurse measure my stoma and have the bags pre cut to that size close as possible.

When you say you roll it, are you using the moldable wafers, I got some moldable wafers to try , so far they seem to be okay , it is only my second day, so will see.
