I am wondering what every one does to keep the out put liquidy,
I have an ileostomy , and sometimes my out put is so thick that it just collects in the plastic cuppling that connects the pouch to the wafer and I am pretty sure that is what is causing my leaks, any one have this problem? if so how did you remedy this? confused

I have had that happen a few times especially when I eat avocado, which I love! I have found that drinking hot tea when I have my avocado helps.

There are times when I wake up and it feels caked around my stoma but as soon as I get up it slides down. Those are mornings where I know that I didn't drink enough fluids the day before.

Yes I am begining to think I need to drink more liquids, I drink 1/2 cup of prune juice in the am and twice more in a day, and that helps, but as soon as I eat something of substance it gets thick again, I also drink oj and apple juice, I can not drink water.hmmm I never had this problem up until 3 weeks ago.i am almost 7 months post opt.

I've posted this numerous times. Maybe some people think I'm joking or that I'm a lush. Drink two 5 oz glasses of red wine every night. Brings happiness, good flow, and good health.

So, experiment for tonight then Tom1......I am going to have my avocado and two glasses of wine tonight. Will report back.
