Had to laugh when a stoma nurse once told me that filtered bags can be used efetively for ileos- lol. she must have been confusing them with colostomy bags.
I have noticed a big difference in gas at night in the pouch - or not- depending on what I eat- i.e. I can pretty much guarantee no gas buildup if I dont eat what I know will create gas (eg lots of lactose containing or sugar containing food, beans etc). But, since I invariably have to get up to pee, I burp (or empty- though I usually dont need to overnight until I get up) it then, so I dont really care. And, like petal says, unless one has to sleep on ones stomach (I have never been a stomach sleeper), a ballooned bag is no biggie- well, at least not for me- I swear it could inflate to a massive size if need be and not ever cause a leak- let it do that once as an experiment (went about
16h without emotying ir burping) and all was well.
