how to protect stoma at concert?

hey guys ive had my loop ileostomy for 8 weeks and have been living life to the fullest

just got back from a few days in the outback hunting feral pigs ( got 32 to those who are interested lol)

anyway i just bought tickets for a metal concert in 5 weeks time but i am worried about getting squished, my bag and stoma mostly

what should i do? i wasnt gonna let my ostomy stop me from living my life

If it's generally just "people bumping into you" then you are probably just fine.

Unless you are planning on having your stoma stepped on you will probably be ok! You can't "break" it, you can make it bleed and you can injure your muscle around it, but I would be more worried about the bag popping if it got really full with pressure of people hitting you. So just make sure you keep the bag emptied and try to avoid blows to the belly!

there is 25 million more of them here in australia destroying the enviroment, when i get a chance i'll kill them to :D

thanks for the responses everyone i think i may go with a stoma guard to play it safe, theyre close to 200 once posted to australia so its abit rich for something ill hardly use but ohwell

Been to plenty of concerts since my surgery (most recently P!nk - AWESOME concert by the way) and before that Neil Finn, Robbie Williams, John Farnham (many times) etc but never needed to protect my stoma. Am going to Bon Jovi in December. Perhaps metal concerts are different though?

I wouldn't buy the stoma guard, mine cost me over £300 for shipping to the UK and I never use it because it used to cause more problems than cure them. I got a free one from the company that i order my stoma bags from and its amazing, I use mine for when I play football and I don't even realise I'm wearing it. Can't remember what make it is for the time being but will have a look when I get home and re-post

Not for the faint hearted to look at but here is anthony on his last hunt youtu.be/SS06ARiuEs8 ... not really Anthony, lol, that is in Texas. But it looks like how we'd clear out zombies after world war z. I do feel sorry for the buggers (feral pigs not zombies) but they are an invasive species (and yes, i know the planet would be better off without us humans but hey, what can ya do, we are here)- I just hope they go down fast and suffer minimally.

Went to the Comfizz website and found the ladies' versions of the belt and protector. I use Fittleworth as well, so there should be no problems with ordering them. Now I've just got to find a sport to use them for... >_>.
