Had 2 feet of my small bowel taken away sept 13 and a temporary stoma put in.  It was pretty rough , my bowel started to perforate when they went in.  But feeling much better now, I can eat and no pain. Anyone can tell me there experience with it.  Thanks a million. Take care everyone!  Sue

sorry to hear about the surgery, Sue. why did you have it? glad you're feeling better now and can eat with no pain. that's really good! i've had an ileostomy for 3 yrs now. i do just fine with it. stools is usually liquidy or paste like, depends on what i eat. it's important to drink at least 2 litters a day with an ileostomy, cuz we lose lots of fluids and so tend to dehydrate more easily.

Thank you so much 2 b colon free.  I had surgery because I have crohns disease for over 30 years and have been in and out of hospital since March with obstructions.  They removed two feet of my right lower bowels since I have had since I was 15.  Still trying to get used to the stoma but dealing it with it pretty good.  Feeling like a new person, just want to get my strength back and some weight.  But it will come, I hope.  Thanks again and take care. Hi Sue, Glad you are doing well after surgery I too have crohns and had surgery in Jan and now have a permenant ileo but I'am fine with that. So glad to be painfree and able to lead a normal life again. keep up with the positive attitude it will help your recovery loads x wink   wink
