My husband is having a very hard time with the skin around his stoma. He is reacting to the adhesive (we think). During our last doctor visit a nurse gave us some DuoDerm. But I have no idea how to use it. It sounds like Ostomy Mom had some success with it.
He is using the Convatec Moldable appliance with stoma paste. The skin is the worst under the taped area. His appliance is staying in place for a couple of days...maybe 4 or 5 if we are lucky.
Help in our area is pretty slim. We have had some advice, frequently the advice is contradictory. There are so many products it is hard to know what to try next. The surgeon says we need to get the skin cleaned up before any conversation about
a reversal surgery.
I figured that this group has more knowledge and, from what I have read, is willing to share. Thank you for any help or advice.
