I had received a temporary ileostomy in October. I have been struggling with dehydration and my electrolytes ever since. I have found that I could drink gallons of liquid a day, and never feel satiated. I do have watery output, and liquid tends to go through me very quickly. Does anyone else have that endless thirst? Also, I tend to crave milk all the time. I could seriously drink milk all day long if I wanted to spend my whole day emptying. Does anyone have cravings like that? I just don't know out of what I am feeling is normal.

Have you had fasting blood work done to rule out diabetes? Are you getting enough salt? Eating salty snacks will help you to retain more fluids. I think it's wise to see a doctor for a complete CBC work up.

Every week I have a CMP, CBC and Prealbumin test done. I do have issues with my electrolytes. I try to add salt to everything and eat salty snack as much as possible. My doctor says I just need to increase my liquids. I also take 8 tablets of Lomotil a day to slow my system down. It has helped with solids, but liquids still seems to go through quickly. I am not diabetic. My doctor just says my system is still figuring things out, and we just need to find the right formula of medicines.

Which Dr. told you to just drink more water? If it's your primary, take it with a grain of salt (literally). You need to drink salt water. Here's the mixture for the ultimate hydration formula from the WHO.

30 ml sugar : 2.5 ml salt : 1 liter water
6 tsp. sugar : 0.5 tsp. salt : 1 liter water
2 tbl. sugar : 0.5 tsp. salt : 1 quart water

You can mix this is sugar free kool-aid or crystal light if you wish. Also, try to cut back on sugar as it can increase output.

     Not sure what a CMP is...metabolic profile?  I suppose that does include a blood glucose test?  Do they still do glucose tolerance tests?  That is when they take a fasting blood test, give you something to drink and test it two hours later.  It has been years since I worked in a lab, so maybe they do it differently these days.

drinking plain water is simply going to exacerbate your situation.
You need to drink true WHO electrolyte beverages ONLY.
I don't know what country you are in.. but in the US.... the fastest (and probably most expensive) thing to get your hands on is Pedialyte. In any grocery or drug store in the baby section.

You can also order Ceralyte online - it tastes disgusting.
I use oral rehydration salts (true WHO electroylyte replacement) from Jianis brothers (mixed with a little crystal lite). Very very cheap. and works very well.

Also for lots of people lomotil does not work. Try switching to immodium.
also try removing (or at least reducing) sugar from your diet.
