OT- I got a job!!!

I got a job! I am so excited. It's not very much and it doesn't pay much at all. But it's still a job!
I have been a stay at home mom (other than subbing and about 3 months of one day a week at a friends fish camp) for 9 years!
It's with a group that goes to preschools and teaches short lessons on sports and activities. Basically it's 30 minutes of jumping and running. I had a interview Monday where I went with one of the teachers to see how I did with the kids and it was great!
I start training on Monday and I'm so excited. It's only about 6-8 hours a week. I didn't really take the job to pay bills or anything, it won't be but 60 dollars a week, lol. But just to feel useful and have a little "extra" money, that I actually make myself.
Anyway just wanted to share!

Congrats! Hey, raising kids and staying home with them is more than a job! I was fortunate to stay home with my kids too but now that they are older I work part time. Like you, it's not much but enough to cover my car payment. Enjoy your new job.....it sounds fun!

The job sounds perfect for you! I think it's great, getting out of the house & getting paid to work is a wonderful feeling. I'm pretty lazy, but I really, really, really like my job! Congratulations! And just think, there is no way you could've done this pre-surgery.

I'm absolutely lazy, but I still hope to find a part-time job at some point. I wouldn't be good with kids, unfortunately. But hope you enjoy the job; congrats!

Fantastic! There's nothing like having change in your pocket, and a job that's outdoors working with kids sounds more like fun than work!

Thanks guys! I'm really excited I like working with kids and the exercise will be good too. My first training day is Monday, I will let you know how it goes.

It's been fun so far. I go in, get the kids, we jump and run for a little bit, then we do a small sport. Like the other day we did horseshoes. Which, with kids that little, consists of keeping them from eating them, lol. Then we run some more and they go back. I spend about 30-40 minutes with the kids. And about 10 minutes setting up. So, today I worked about 45 minutes. We get paid for 2 hours regardless though. And I got a raise already. She thought she told me a different amount and wrote that on my paperwork. I said, ok!
I really like doing it. And it's good exercise.
