Tail Bone pain after surgery

Hi,

I recently went through the first surgery for my J-pouch (Feb 6th) I was in the hospital till Feb 14th due to my bowel falling asleep. I've been figuring the pain in my tail bone is from the hospital bed(it's happened before). I know there can be issues after surgery in that area. Every so often it does feel much better, I'm wondering if sometimes the balloon is putting pressure there and causing the discomfort.

Anyone have any suggestions, I've tried heat, not sitting on it for long periods, no hard surfaces. Do you think it's something I should get checked out? The hospital I had this done at is 3.5 hours away that's why I'd rather not have to drive there.

This isn't terrible pain, but it is very annoying and uncomfortable and makes walking and sitting a pain.

No fever, although my body's temperature control is horrible usually happens to me after I have been on blood thinners. Usually at night I'll just break into sweats and then it's gone, usually because I have too many covers on when I fall asleep, no problems if I just have a sheet.

No other problems, the nurse comes every couple of days to check on things make sure I'm doing fine, she'll be here tomorrow and I'll talk to her. I'm not super concerned but I don't need to take chances after everything I've gone through already.

Call, talk to the nurse in your surgeon's office. My surgeon is 4 hours away too so I know the pain if you need to go in. But they might be able to call in some antibiotics or otherwise advise you based on what type of surgery you had. I know you had 1st step jpouch, but...did you just have a colectomy or did you have colectomy and jpouch creation?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I haven't been able to get on. I talked to a nurse at another hospital and the stoma nurse that comes. The pain is much better and I'm feeling better in general, everyone agreed it was probably just from the bed and all the weight loss I had from being sick (I have no "bum").

Anyways everything seems to be much better, thanks for the suggestions.
