Regarding a possible surgeon

 Hi everyone, I am looking at a colectomy and wondered if anyone here knew of Dr. Ankit Sarin?

He was recommended to me by Dr. Varma, who was my first choice surgeon but she is going on

vacation. Just deciding wether or not to wait. These are UCSF docs. by the way. Any info would

be appreciated.

You will have better luck asking this question at www.j-pouch.org in the General Discussion thread. There are over 6000 ostomates/jpouchers on that site. This site is relatively small in comparison.

Did you check www.ratemds.com?
Anyone can go there and write anything good or bad about a surgeon so take the advice with a grain of salt and remember their experience is not necessarily your experience, but I always like to check ppl out.

Can't tell you about Dr. Sarin, but Dr. Varma did my LAR for rectal cancer and I was very impressed with her and her team....mine was a very difficult procedure due to extensive adhesions and 2 other surgeons would not touch me....one at Palo Alto Medical and one at Stanford.
